Zimbuya Plays on March 18, 2022
Zimbuya is an Indiana based marimba band bringing high energy Zimbabwean music to the Midwest and Beyond. Their large roster of members includes Dan Kusaya, Jim Harney and Abby Diaz. Dan, a sensational musician with electrifying stage presence, hails from Zimbabwe and has toured Europe & Africa with the Minanzi Mbira Band. Jim, an enthusiastic & talented student of Zimbabwean music and co-founder of Zimbuya, demonstrates his reverence for the preservation and evolution of this tradition in every performance. Abby, an inspiring performer, teacher and co-founder of Zimbuya, conveys the beauty of Zimbabwean music through her exuberant playing, percussive dancing and melodious singing. This Saturday Adam Riviere is hosting a Cultural Heritage Celebration through Music at Arts for Lawrence! Live stream it or come in person if you are local! Abby Diaz will be playing with Adam during the tour through African music.  |
